This article follows my previous articles on the introduction into building your own house and the factors influencing the decisions to build as opposed to buying an already built house, we also dwelt on the decision on where to build.
We now look at the type of house to build. This is similar to the decision on which car to buy at the bazaar. There are all those factors you consider, ranging from fuel consumption to stability on the road. It is in most cases a given that by the time you have decided to build, you have already decided on what type of house to build. By house here I mean the physical appearance. A bungalow or a villa. There are many different things that define the type of house you have always wished to own. The kind that would make your wife to finally rest her case. This may therefore not really be up for discussion at this moment. The spaces may also already have been decided. The number of bedrooms has been discussed in other forums and agreed upon.
What is really up for discussion and requisite of decision is what goes to the house. A good example is the kind of finishes that will be applied. There are currently very many new construction technologies and all these come ฝากขายบ้าน with their own attributes. You must seek a balance between price and value. You must also weigh the pros and cons of the old versus the contemporary. Another very important part of the building is the type of services to be used. An example here is the heating of the house. Do you go for under-floor mechanism or through heat loss prevention measures like double glazing and double walling? Do you heat your water using solar or electricity? While there are mechanical engineers to guide you through all this, lack of proper background information may lead to your getting a raw deal, for example the incidence of over design.
Another thing to take into account is the one on whether to go horizontal or vertical. Where land is not limiting, it might be economically prudent to go horizontal but this may not necessarily satisfy the aesthetic and usability aspects of the same. Similarly, the use of modern technology will help assure adaptability and easy servicing and maintenance but will deny the product that look of strength and durability.
These are just few illustrations of how a simple decision on the type of house to build can bring a world of difference by the time the process is completed. This will clearly be seen on facets of cost, aesthetics, adaptability and durability among others. So go ahead, try as much as possible to open your eyes to the many options available to you and see which one best works for you.
In the next article, we look at the decision of what financial implications are involved.
