Why Modular Construction is the Future of Building

Until the last 30 years, construction practices had not really changed much for the previous hundred. It has often been said that builders and contractors are among the most stubborn, set in their ways, industry group out there. And why fix something that is not broken right? well that's been the general consensus for many years. but now things have changed- as urban areas age, and construction costs continue to rise around the country (and the world) new challenges have arisen which can only be met by a better, more efficient method of building. And that is where modular construction comes into play...

In The Big City

In Urban areas around the country structures are aging faster then we can reasonably build new ones, and this creates a situation where urban decay and degradation thrive because the costs associated with replacing these structures has often been too high in relation to the income that can reasonably be derived from the result of a new project. Part of the problem is the excessive costs associated with the logistics of running a construction project in a high pop. density area, and mitigating the impact of a 12 month build on the surrounding neighborhood and traffic grid.

With modular construction your on-site construction time can often be reduced to 90 to 120 days, drastically reducing the impact on the surrounding neighborhood and the costs and headaches associated with it. This by itself is huge, and when you combine that with the reduced capital costs, and extra income from your quickly completed project the $$$'s start to really add up!

When Disaster Strikes

In recent years modular construction has come through helping families to return to their homes in a matter of weeks and months as opposed to months and years. Whether it is the wildfire ravaged hills of Southern California or the Hurricane victims of the gulf coast, modular construction helps families and communities return to normal life without years and years of frustrating rebuilding efforts.

What many people do not realize is that modular homes are built to match and adhere to all the same building codes as standard construction. So when you rebuild modular what you get is a structure that matches or exceeds the quality and value of your previous structure. (Assuming the plans are similar)

Another thing to consider is the fact that modular construction can be adapted to almost any floor plan - so a modular rebuild can almost always match the structure it is replacing.

In The Developments of The Future

As the size of a project increases, the number of sub-contractors, weather delays, logistical problems, and legal hassles increases in turn. Developers already have enough things to worry about with their projects without having to deal with these now unnecessary headaches. With modular construction all that really increases are the number of modules - which can be stacked up to three stories just like any standard stick built building.

While standard construction becomes more of a hassle, the full benefits of the modular construction process are highlighted as the size of your project increases. It is not hard to imagine a future when all commercial developments are completed this way.

Your Dream Home Come True!

If you have witnessed any custom homes being built lately then you have probably seen just how expensive it can be to build a home these days. That is because the rising costs of labor and materials combined with stick built construction companies that are struggling themselves of late makes for projects that often go over budget, past deadline, or worse are put on delay while companies struggle to shuffle around vital crews, sub-contractors and/or other resources.

Why should property owners looking to make their dream homes come true have to deal with frustrating delays and hassles which in this day and age (with modular construction available) are largely unnecessary? The answer - they should not. We don't blame most contractors for sticking the familiar territory of site built construction practices- It's what they know. After all - when the automobile was invented many ฝากขายที่ดิน folks insisted on continuing to ride their horses - some folks still carry pagers (like doctors).
