Everyone knows the number of bedrooms and bathrooms are probably one of the most important things to consider. Does everyone in the family need their own bedroom or bathroom? Are you just starting out and plan on having children in the future?
3. Master bathroom? Some of the things to consider in the master bathroom are, do you need a shower and tub both or could you get by with just a combination shower and tub? Or maybe all you need in the master bathroom is just a shower. How many sinks are you looking to have, one or two?
4. When are you planning to move in your new home? If you have children in school you may not be thinking about moving until after their current school year. You may have other family matters to consider when determining when you plan on moving.

6. What is the age of the home? Older homes may require maintenance sooner then newer homes.

8. What type of home will best suit your needs, condo, townhouse, or single-family?
9. Are you looking for a maintenance-free lifestyle, and if so what amenities and services are you looking for the community to have. You also need to consider what monthly or yearly maintenance fees or Association fees they may have.
10. What style of home are you looking for, ranch, colonial, Florida? There are many to choose from.
11. Are you looking for a single floor, or two-story or multilevel?
12. Are there yearly or monthly assessments and how much are they?
13. What type of lot are you looking for the home to be sitting on? A corner lot, a waterfront lot, or just a standard lot?
14. What type of driveway are you looking for and do you need extra parking spaces for a RV or boat?
15. Are you looking for an eat-in kitchen so you and your family may sit down for meals together?
16. Does the home have a formal dining room for entertaining?
17. Do you need a family room for family entertainment?
18. Do you require a laundry room and if looking at a two-story home which floor should the laundry room be on?
19. What condition do the mechanical systems (air-conditioned, heating, hot water heater, and so on) appear to be in? Are they older or newer?
20. Does the home come with a home warranty policy? Most of them allow you to renew them every year.
21. How large are the rooms? The room size could be very important especially if you have a lot of furniture.
22. What type of interior decor should the home have?
23. How large of a garage do you need, and should it be attached or detached? How many stalls, one, two, or three or more?
24. Where would you like the home to be located? Location is probably one of the most important factors to consider. It may be important to you how close the hospital is, or doctors, schools, shopping, or the post office is.
