Track record
Do not be wowed by talk of affiliations or certifications. Check the details out yourself with all the organizations mentioned. These associations have certain standards, if your builder is verified or well-known, you are in safe hands.
Word of Mouth
There is nothing better than a referral from friends or family. If you value their judgement or have seen the finished building in question and you are impressed, get the contact details of the builder. Do the Paperwork

If you are the one motivating him to do his job, do not expect him to put all his effort in erecting a quality building.
