Building a Sustainable Home

A sustainable home is built with environmental responsibility in mind. When building a sustainable home there are 3 factors to คอนโดมือสอง ราคาถูก consider:

1. Use earth-friendly and people-friendly materials.

2. Minimize grading of the land.

3. Build as a quality home.

Let's take a look at each of these in a little more detail.

Use Earth-Friendly And People-Friendly Materials

When building, use recycled and/or reclaimed materials whenever and wherever possible. All of these products reduce energy usage, create less pollution and are fuel efficient. Choose products with less of the harmful off gassing than traditional construction materials.

Make sure that you install energy-efficient products such as appliances, windows, and doors. These all do their part to conserve energy and save you money.

This can seem to be a bit overwhelming, so feel good about whatever you can do to improve your health and the world around you. Take one step at a time.

Minimize Grading Of The Land

Location of utilities and road access will affect how much of the land will need to be graded. A sustainable build will minimize this whenever possible.

Carefully consider the trees, boulders, hills, etc. you want to retain, and make sure your builder is willing and able to make that happen. Try to replant any areas that have been graded to cut down on dust and weeds. More greenery reduces the temperature around your home while concrete and other "hardscape" increases the temperature.

Before you do anything, check your local zoning ordinances as they will have maximum grading restrictions. These limitations are actually quite generous. And keep in mind that a sustainable home will grade well under the allowed area.

Build As A Quality Home

A sustainable home builder will promote the use of local materials versus those shipped in from elsewhere. The further away a material is, the more energy is used and pollution created in its delivery to your site. Buying local is also great for the local economy. A sustainable home will use materials and finishes that will last and have lasting style so as to avoid having to discard materials adding to landfill waste.

Insulate well to spend less money and energy heating and cooling your home. Choose windows and doors carefully, to maximize insulation value (R-value). Local electric company may offer guidance and certification for energy-efficient homes.

Choose materials that will require less maintenance, which also means fewer materials purchased for upkeep. Building a sustainable home has many rewards. You are helping your health, community and the environment. It is well worth the effort and will have lasting rewards for many years to come.
