Shopping For A Home Builder

Nest. Den. Hive. Drey. Roost. Warren. Lair. Lodge. Sometimes the wild animals have it easier to build their housing: hollow out some space in a tree trunk; find a cave near the base of a mountain; gather twigs and sticks together and form a shell then submerge it under the lake's surface... While humans have the ability to construct a shelter that easily, using their region's abundant natural elements, not everybody wants to live in an igloo or sod shanty. According to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, the average length of a house-building project can range anywhere from 16 to 30 weeks, (4 to 7 ½ months) and sometimes even longer than that. With a serious investment of time of that magnitude, you had better trust your home builder.

The way to trust your home builder is to do your research. Take the time to find the right person or company for the project who will deliver on your needs and expectations to your satisfaction. Research. Ask questions. Visit show homes. Talk to previous customers (references). Only select the home builder who meets the qualifications as you see fit to get the job done and you (and your family) settled into your new home.

What are the qualities in a home builder you should be looking for?

Vision . Displays dedication and passion for excellent customer service.

Integrity . Ethical in their business dealings, professionally associated with other home builders in the construction industry, and fully compliant with all municipal building codes and bylaws.

Knowledge . Knows about all types of construction materials, is aware of current home design trends, and is fully compliant with workplace safety regulations and procedures.

Experience . Has demonstrable skills and talent. Has the proper training and certification. Can get the job done on time and within your budget.

Home builders can be small companies or large, specialists with a certain niche or unique focus, (e.g., accessibility standards, luxury, eco-friendly), display awards and award-winning craftsmanship, and may also ทาวน์โฮมมือสอง กรุงเทพ be involved in "giving back" to the community.

Consider their reputation, and inspect their work. Ask all sorts of questions. Inquire into their "after-sales" service. Will they assist you with warranty disputes? Maintenance and repairs? After all, these people will be responsible for building your dream home-the place where you come to relax after long days of work and unwind, perhaps in the den, away from the hive of activity of adorable yet hyperactive children...

Find your home builder through advertisements in newspapers, websites on the Internet, and word of mouth of both family and friends and meet with them at open houses, home shows, model homes, the communities they work in/develop. (Maybe there's an app on your mobile device...) Collect all the information possible that you feel you would require in making your final decision. Note what interests you. Jot down anything that's relevant in a notebook. Take pictures as well. Have as complete a record of qualities as possible to help you in your decision-making process.

While animals are not concerned with taxes and bylaws and codes, (instead they worry about having enough food to see them and their offspring through the seasons), the prospective professional home builder for your project should have what you need to see you move into your home. And perhaps a welcome basket.
