Roseburg, Oregon is a great place to live, retire, raise kids. It's also a beautiful, safe, and slow-paced community (compared to some). There are many reasons why I like Roseburg and think it's such a good place to live, but I only include a short list of my "favorites" in this article. For one thing, the real estate prices in this city are typically lower than many other areas, including the neighboring cities to the north and south, but whether you're researching places to retire, buying or renting a home, selling, or just thought Roseburg looked interesting, I think you'll love this town.
Roseburg OR Information:
If you have been through this small city of right around 20,000 people, you've probably noticed the friendly atmosphere and natural beauty. Roseburg is located in the beautiful Umpqua (UMP-QUA) Valley and boasts of many natural scenic views. The city neighborhoods range from fixers to beautiful turn of the century historic homes as well as brand new custom homes. The diversity of neighborhood types is always attractive to new people moving into town. As I mentioned, the natural beauty is pretty impressive too. Being surrounded by colorful mountains, forests, and rivers, there are all kinds of outdoor activities and attractions to choose from.
Some of my personal favorite things about Roseburg Oregon are:
The famous renowned North Umpqua River with its excellent salmon and steelhead fishing, white water rafting, and camping. The slower waters of the South Umpqua River, offering fishing, especially bass. The Main Umpqua คอนโดมือสอง River. This is where the North Umpqua and South Umpqua Rivers meet (at the forks). There is a very nice park called River Forks Park, with swimming, camping, playground, day use, and a boat ramp. This river runs all the way to the coast and is also another beautiful river with great fishing. (The ocean just a tad over 1 hour away!) The Callihan mountains are just amazing. The sunsets are really breathtaking. They are also a fun place to take the kids to play in the snow in the wintertime. Hiking and biking the trails just past Glide OR. Glide is located about 20 minutes to the east of Roseburg. Homes are priced pretty comparable too. You'll usually find very nice view and riverfront properties with large lots in Glide. The Douglas County Museum is quite impressive. Douglas County also has other unique things like covered brides and the Applegate trail. Many near-by parks, camping and swimming areas make it convenient to get out for a one or two-day camp-out with the family. I can't end my list of Roseburg OR Favorites without mentioning the many wineries. Douglas County has become quite known for the wineries and fertile ground which is great for growing grapes. You might enjoy a tour of the local wineries.
