Do you need to replace the windows in your home? Are you considering saving yourself a few bucks by doing your own window installation? This is something that more and more homeowners are considering doing because it appears to be very straight forward. How difficult can window installation actually be?
The great news is that every consumer has access to all of the products and tools that they need to install their own windows. Chances are you can drive to your local home improvement store and get everything you need in one trip to have everything on hand to do the window installation. As long as you have time, are able to follow instructions, and have the desire to put in your own windows you can make a go of this do it yourself project.
What you may not be prepared for is the amount of work that goes into window installation. If you are replacing old windows you will need to remove the old windows, perhaps remove the window sills, and even remove portions of the dry wall. Not only will you then need to install the window, you will need to replace everything that you have had to remove or demolish in the process of installation so you have an aesthetically appealing finished product.
As you can see, a lot goes into window installation but if you want to give it a shot on your own you can! You need to be patient and be sure that you plan every step of the process. It is generally good practice to approach each window individually at least until you can determine how much time each window installation will take you.
