A Letting Agents Uncensored Opinion of the Industry

Have you noticed how technology (the web) has changed the face of everything, how it's seeped into every corner of our lives.

And oh so quickly as well.

Can you remember your first mobile phone?

The first call you ever took on your mobile phone?

The Dom Jolly skit you know the one "I'm on the TRAIN!"

Classic!

Can you remember the last video you watched?

I have no idea... but it doesn't seem that long ago

Have a think about the household names which are no longer with us because technology and the web simply over took them... names like Blockbusters, Woolworths, HMV, Jessops, Clintons and Game spring to mind.

Now I know that it wasn't purely the internet which led to their demise but let's face it if customers hadn't been jumping ship to other alternatives that offered better value for money, better service and an overall better experience.

Well there wouldn't be so many corporate tombstones littering the high street, now would there?

In my opinion the writing is on the walls for the letting industry in its current form.

And the culprits - the arch facilitators making this all possible...

The Web, Right Move & the Agents themselves!

What the agents are contributing to their own demise? Some of the margins letting agents allocate to certain tasks would put the bankers to shame)

But I digress...

Lets look at the key things a letting agent does and break it down:

Value Property (local knowledge) - Right move can tell you faster and more accurately what a fair valuation for your rental will be. Tell บ้าน มือสอง you what you need to do to rent your property out (lots of resource available to do that including Right Move) Get Certificates sorted like EPC's (Go direct and save yourself £100's) Market your property (Online Sites that will do this for free - if you qualify) Inventories ( Dedicated software can help you do inventories in a flash) Contracts (Online resource can do this for you or do it yourself) Viewings (You can do it yourself or hire someone local I can show you how if your not local) Management - What do you pay this fee for? If there's a problem they call you to tell you and then often get their workman out who will charge a fortune because the agents put their margin on (source your own and save the margin)

So here's my conclusion:

- with the right Knowledge - with the right Contacts - and with the right Systems

Landlords & Property Investors can boot their letting agents into touch and save themselves £1000's in fees.

Put it this way the Lettings Industry is worth Billions and there's a portion of it with your name on.
