Its amazing finding out that Kit homes actually date back to the 1910's just following World War I. My grandfather didn't fight in the war until World War II, and I am just now finding out about Kit homes.
The more I researched these homes, the more I considered the idea. In today's world, we have to do all we can to hang onto our money, and Steel Kit Homes, appear to be a good investment at an affordable price. After visiting many sites I found out those kits start out as low as $30,000. I didn't realize a better way of living could be within my price range. Therefore, I decided to research this matter further, and decide if the advantages outweighed the disadvantages.
As I was researching, I found many astounding qualities to Steel Framed Homes. They are fire resistant, which is amazing, seeing that I now live in wood frame home, and worry myself sick, about it catching on fire. That would put my mind at ease. Termite proof, that was a plus for me, considering, I spend a lot of money in pest control each year, and we all know mold is a major issue, when considering home buying. However, if you go with a Steel Kit Home, it will no longer be a problem. They are mold resistant as well, that's a huge factor to keep in mind, especially if you have small children, or an existing health condition. These style of homes are built in less than half the time it would take to build a standard home. Meaning reduced labor costs, and who doesn't like the idea of saving time, as well as money? Because Kit Homes have flexibility of design, you have more open spaces to give your home that unique style you desire. This may be the most important advantage to Steel Kit Homes yet, their strength. They are able to withstand severe weather conditions such as, snow storms, hurricanes, and earthquakes. If only I had known about them while I was living in Florida. Kit Homes are environmentally friendly, meaning no trees have to be cut down to build your home, if you're going with steel. I admit it, I'm a tree hugger at heart, but that's beside the point. Plus, they are energy efficient, and can save you money on all energy costs, and let's face it. It's all about the money.
The only disadvantages I found to purchasing one of these homes was, what all was included in the kits. It all depends on which Company you choose. As always, do your research, and make sure you read the entire contract before purchasing your home. Never rely on the company's word; it's always best to get it in writing. Well, now that I have weighed out my options. I know which way I'm going. Steel Kit Homes have won me over; after all it's the way of the future.
