A Guide to Buying a House in Scotland

When you're on the lookout for purchasing your next property in Scotland, there are a few important things to consider. The Scottish legal process is different from the rest of the UK. Although most of the points are the same, in Scotland, the timing of the contract becoming legally binding, has lead to a few different approaches. Unlike in England, where the contracts are often handed over near the end of the process, Scotland's contracts become legally binding at a very early stage. North of the border, most homeowners prefer not to wait for the next occupants to turn up at their door, with removal men in tow, before finalising the binding contract.
